Telling a Story in Clay

Art in Term Four has been all about Clay. There have been disappointments, such as when our treasured works have cracked, or been broken. There have been highs when we have felt proud of our finished work, despite the challenges involved in making it.

Locky

Kiwi Volleyball

Ouch my arm i just hit my arm on the floor what! Now i'm out ahhh.

I hit my arm by trying to dive on the ball but I hit the ground too hard and dropped the ball saving the team, more like getting out. One of our games was against Gracefield they cheated and they got away with it because we didn’t have a person to defend us. Whenever Todd got out Sally Todd's mum, would make someone else go out.

We didn’t get a placing in our pool, but we had about 3 wins 2 loses and 3 ties.My team had me Liam,Braidyn,Lui,Violet and Mila.We vs the example team and they got one of the rules wrong?. After every game we had a break

where we got to play and have food.

Volleyball - Grace

I was so excited when went to a volleyball

Tournament I was in a team with George, Harriot,

Alize and Khara. Every team was self managed by a

Captian and it was George and I was jealous. We had nine teams. Other schools that competed were Gracefield, Maungaraki and Wilford. The rules are you have to catch the ball and throw it over and if the other team misses the person who misses is out. The Results That our team came 3rd in one pool and 1st in another Pool. I very much enjoyed the volleyball

Tournament and can’t wait until the next one.

Volleyball recount

On the 11th of August 2016 I sat on the bus, we were on our way to a volleyball tournament! I said to Samantha “As you get to our year the bus rides with your class get louder”. She could barely hear me over all the shouting. Finally we arrived at Walton Ash centre we sat down outside the library that is in there, then we got sorted into our teams. We had a team leader in each team I was the leader of my team, in my team was me, Joe, Isaiah, Riley, Jane and Samantha. Then in our teams we walked into the place where we were going to play volleyball . Then some people told us the rules, the game is pretty straightforward you have a ball and you throw it over the net and every time it goes over the net you rotate clockwise. After the instructions we got ready to play our first game.

When we started playing we were really nervous but it was really fun so we soon got over it. We won our first game 5-0. After that we had a 15 minute break. Then we had five more games, we won three games and drew two. Then we had a 30 minute break for lunch, after that we had two games in a row the first one was hard but we won 4-3. Our last team we played were very good and we lost 6-7. After that we went back to the stands to hear the results of the pools. My team came 2nd in pool B. We were very happy, It was a lovely day.
